Not every room needs the same preparation or finishing process. Existing wallpaper, previous paint, patched drywall, and the look you want all affect how a painting and decorating project should be prepped and sequenced. D&D evaluates the room during the onsite estimate so the repairs, preparation and finish scope are defined before work begins.

Painters & Decorators in Brunswick, GA
D&D Decorators provides painting services from our Brunswick office throughout Glynn County and the Golden Isles, including Brunswick, St. Simons Island, Sea Island and Jekyll Island.
For projects requiring both repair and painting, our team can handle the work through the finished surface rather than leaving homeowners to coordinate separate contractors.
Why Homeowners Choose D&D for Painting and Decorating
D&D Decorators is a locally owned painting contractor serving the Golden Isles since 1986. With 50+ employees, we have the crews and experience to handle everything from a single powder room to a whole house.
Painting, wallpaper, decorative finishes and repairs are handled by one company, under one estimate and one schedule. You don’t have to coordinate a painter, a paperhanger and a drywall contractor around each other.
We’re fully licensed and insured, and customers hire us for dependable scheduling, professional crews, clear communication, thorough prep and consistent, high-quality work. Creating delighted customers since 1986.
Our Painting and Decorating Process
Every project follows the same six steps, whether it’s one wallpapered powder room or a whole-house repaint.
1. Onsite Assessment
An estimator visits the home, looks at the rooms and surfaces, and talks through the paint, wallpaper, finishes and repairs you have in mind.
2. Written Estimate and Scope
You receive a written estimate that lists each room, surface and service included, so you know exactly what is being done before you book.
3. Colors and Scheduling
Once the project is booked, color consultation and on-wall samples are included. We confirm colors, wallpaper selections and finishes, and schedule the crew.
4. Protection and Repairs
Floors, furniture and fixtures are covered. Old wallpaper is removed, drywall and trim are repaired, and surfaces are cleaned, sanded and primed.
5. Painting, Wallpaper and Finishes
Work is done in order: ceilings and trim, then walls, then wallpaper and decorative finishes, so each step goes onto a finished surface.
6. Cleanup and Final Walkthrough
The crew cleans the work area and reviews the finished rooms with you before the project is marked complete.
The standard we hold on every project is consistency. Paint, paper and finishes should look like they were planned together.
What a Painting and Decorating Project Should Deliver
Detailed Surface Preparation
Walls, trim and cabinets are cleaned, repaired and primed before any paint or wallpaper goes on, because the finish is only as good as the surface under it.
One Team for the Whole Project
Painting, wallpaper, finishes and repairs are handled by one company, with one estimate and one point of contact.
A Finished Room That Looks Planned
Paint colors, wallpaper and decorative finishes are chosen and installed to work together, not added one at a time.
Protection of the Rest of the House
Floors, furniture, counters and the rooms next to the work area are covered and protected for the length of the project.
Painting and Decorating Questions
Do you hang wallpaper as well as remove it?
Yes. We install new wallpaper, including murals and patterned papers, and we remove old wallpaper and adhesive, repair the walls underneath and get them ready for paint or new paper. See wallpaper installation and removal.
Can one company handle the painting, wallpaper and repairs in the same room?
Yes. We schedule the work in the right order: repairs first, then ceilings and trim, then walls, with walls primed before any wallpaper goes up. You deal with one estimate and one point of contact.
Are you interior designers?
No. We’re painters and decorators. We don’t select furniture, fabrics or layouts, but we regularly work from colors, wallpaper and finish specifications chosen by homeowners and their designers.
Is color consultation free?
Color consultation and on-wall color samples are included once your project is booked. The estimate itself is always free and no obligation.
Do you work on commercial spaces?
Yes. We paint and finish offices, restaurants, retail and other commercial interiors and exteriors. See commercial painting.
How much does painting and decorating cost?
It depends on the rooms, surfaces, materials and repairs involved. We price every project after an onsite assessment, and the estimate is free. For typical ranges, see house painting prices on St. Simons Island.
